Tragic Loss for the Oldfield & Moya Families in Edmonton

By Daniel Oldfield,
Edmonton, Canada.

Rhonda Lynn Moya (pictured) was killed in a fatal road accident in the early hours of Sunday September 12, 2021 while her 9yr old daughter was in a life-threatening situation.

This happened while Rhonda in the company of her daughter, Sierra, were returning to Edmonton on that fateful morning when their Grand Cherokee Jeep was rammed into by a Ford F150 truck along Highway 28/Sturgeon road.

According to Press reports quoting Morinville RCMP, the driver of the Ford F150 truck, James Dean Novosell from Edmonton, was taken into custody following the crash that left Rhonda dead not long after the crash, while her young daughter who was also in her vehicle, was airlifted to Stollery Children's Hospital via Stars Air Ambulance.

James Dean Novosell has been slapped with several charges including one count of dangerous driving causing death, one count of impaired driving causing bodily harm, etc.

He is also expected to appear at MORINVILLE PROVINCIAL COURT on Thursday September 16, 2021.

The late Rhonda was a mother of two children -Travis de Gans and daughter young Sierra Oldfield. She had Sierra Oldfield with the son of the Oldfields in Edmonton. Rhonda was a friend to the Sierra Leone Association of Alberta( SLAA-through the Oldfield family in Edmonton) & the African Immigrant Communities. She will be sadly missed by all. The Oldfield family are requesting continued prayers for Sierra who is speedily recovering.

Olufemi Oldfield who is the eldest son of the Oldfield family in Edmonton is the father of Sierra Oldfield.

A GoFundme page has been created for Rhonda's 9 year old daughter Sierra Oldfield who has a long way to recovery from her injuries sustained from the gruesome accident. You can access the page here -  https://gofund.me/aac70ef2

Sierra Oldfield was virtually "Mummy's hand bag" who  would have loved to be at her mother's funeral but no way as doctors and nurses at the Strollery Children's Hospital are working round the clock to ensure the little girl regains full recovery.

The Oldfield family joins the Moya family in appealing for support of the Gofundme created for Sierra. The "Daniel Oldfield Corner" Facebook page  is also appealing to members the Sierra Leone Association of Alberta (SLAA ), the African and other African communities to support Sierra.

May the Almighty God accept our very Jovial and peace loving RHONDA in his Kingdom, and may her gentle soul and those of the faithful departed rest in peace.
