SALNAM Swears in New Executive Members in Winnipeg, Canada

The newly elected executives of the Sierra Leone Nationals Association of Manitoba (SALNAM) was inaugurated in Winnipeg, Canada, in a ceremony attended by the Sierra Leonean community and other nationals.
The event took place at the City Oasis, Winnipeg, Canada on Friday November 23, 2018.
Electoral Commissioner Alex Bockarie swore in the entire elected members. In his speech, Bockarie called for a unified Sierra Leone community in Winnipeg and appealed to all to put aside tribalism and work together.
SALNAM Elections happened a month ago in Winnipeg, Canada, where Alie Hassan Nasralla and entire team swept the four seats contested for.
President Nasralla has been with SALNAM for the past years holding several positions as Secretary General and up to Vice Presidents, etc. At the inauguration ceremony, President Nasralla talked about his past roles and accomplishments and further stressed about the the current position of president he's now occupying. He publicly called for help from the entire community and asking everyone to be on board.
Former SALNAM President Abu Bakarr (Biggie) Kamara officially handed over the powers of authority to the president on stage. Mr. Kamara also talked about the challenges he had with his past executives, SALNAM's achievements and the future of SALNAM in the coming years. He thanked all that have helped in the past past years and also asked for all hands on deck to continue to build SALNAM.
Sierra Leone's reggae star, PegCity's own Idrissa Turay aka Alaska", was the highlight of the night as he performed his legendary "Mystic Lady" song and cooling off with a rendition of SE Rogers's "My Lovely Elizabeth".
The night was full of fun and DJ Abdul Rahman was throwing the beats and lyrics all night long.
