Winnipeg Hit Hard With the Death of Lansana Mansaray

By Lans Omar,

Winnipeg, Canada.

The Sierra Leone community in Winnipeg, Canada, is mourning the death of Lansana Mansaray (pictured) who passed away on Wednesday November 6th, 2019 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Mansaray was an active member in the community.

The Sierra Leone Nationals Association of Manitoba (SALNAM) is informing the general public of his passing.

The organization is expressing its deepest condolences to the Mansaray family both in Canada and Sierra Leone.

Sympathizers can contact his wife Mrs. Adama Mansaray (nee Jawara) on 204.333.2894 and  Abdulai Conteh (A.B.) on 204.583.4112.

The SALNAM executive will convey to you all funeral arrangement in due course.

In the Fall of 2017, Mansaray was given some shocking news and had to face the biggest challenge of his life. He was battling a rare form of throat cancer - Hyalinizing Clear Cell Carcinoma. He was only the second person to have this type of cancer in Manitoba, Canada.

Caught at stage 4 - chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are not options. His only course of action is an experimental form of immunotherapy.

He recently began his treatment, and although his health continues to worsen, He was hoping for a miracle but he had to answer to the call of the Lord on that fateful Wednesday evening.

May the Lord forgive his sins and grant him Jannah! Rest in peace brother Lans.
