COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The man accused of killing his parents whose bodies were found inside a home in Delaware was captured on Monday morning.

Mohammed Lamin Kandeh, 25, was arrested in northern Delaware County at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, less than 24 hours after two people, whom police have identified as the suspect's parents, 61-year-old Mohamed Alusine Kandeh and 60-year-old Bintu Kandeh, were shot to death. They lived together on Bristol Drive about eight miles away from where Kandeh was arrested Monday.

Police said Kandeh was stopped in his vehicle on Maloney Road near McCurdy Road around 11 a.m. Delaware officers said, with the assistance of Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, Kandeh was brought into custody without incident.

"As of now, Kandeh will be held on his outstanding warrant with court proceedings tomorrow likely," Delaware officials said Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the Bristol Drive residence Sunday after a report of two people failing to meet with a family member, Delaware police said. When responding units arrived, they found two adults dead inside the home from apparent gunshot wounds.

An arrest warrant was then issued for Kandeh.

Personnel from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Delaware County Coroner’s Office, and Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office were requested to assist with an initial on-scene investigation, police said.

It's not known how law-enforcement officials caught up with Kandeh on Monday.
